City of San Fernando, Pampanga- The Commission on Audit (COA), as an independent constitutional body, has been a staunch supporter in promoting not only the professional growth of its personnel but also their overall well-being. It is with this advocacy that COA Sporstfest is being held annually to foster camaraderie, unity, cooperation and healthy lifestyle among employees. However, with the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional cultural and sports activities had to be set aside.
After a lull of more than three years, COA Sportsfest is finally back. COVID-19 Pandemic has not dampened the sports-loving spirit of COAns thus, every COAn welcomed the competition with open arms and cheerful smiles.
But this year, instead of a full-blown inter-regional sportsfest, COA Regional Office No. III hosted for the 1st time, the 2024 Tryouts/ Selection Process for Luzon consisting of various sports events, both indoor and outdoor. The preparation included the creation of committees, series of meetings using hybrid platforms, ocular inspections for the venue/accommodation and practices. This exercise is a prelude to the 125th founding anniversary celebration of the Commission on May 2-8, 2024.
The event kicked off on March 14, 2023 at the SM City Clark Bowling and Leisure Center, Clarkfield, Pampanga with the arrival of the Bowling and Billiard players from COA Regions 1, 2, 4A,4B, 5 and Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR). The delegates were given a warm welcome by the event coordinators headed by Engr. Bettina M. San Antonio followed by the Try-outs/Selection Process for Billiards and Bowling wherein several games were played to determine the representatives for COA Luzon. The results are as follows:
